Halls 31-34, the main halls of the Bazaar along the Randweg, is also called "The Eastern market". It is divided into "The Fresh market" in Halls 32-33, and "The Souk" in Hall 34. In fact, from the inside it is hard to tell the different halls apart. Hall 34 is also where the mosque is located. It's a strange experience walking through the fresh market and hearing the call to prayer playing on the loudspeakers. It's easy to forget that this is all in Noord Holland...

Google Maps: Randweg 55 Beverwijk (Hal 34), Randweg 59 Beverwijk (Hal 32).

Hal 32

Star Nuts

Turkish, vegetarian and vegan options

This place doesn’t actually have a sign with the name, but according to the Bazaar map, it is officially called “Star nuts”. The name is not at all representative of what is sold here, as this is mostly a bakery focusing on börek and gözleme that are made on the spot – also super fun to watch them bake! Vegan options are gözleme with spinach or with grated potato, which is nicely filling and a bit spicy. Another superb vegan option is çiğ köfte. Vegetarian options are cheese and spinach gözleme, cheese and spinach borek. All great things to take home, especially the çiğ köfte which is sold cold.

Official name, location, and phone number (according to the Bazaar map):
Star Nuts, Hal: 32 - Stand: 32439, 06-41 98 88 32

How to find: Hall 32, very close to the entrance towards hall 33, on the inner side (farthest away from Randweg).
Google maps: search for Masjid Beverwijk, which is in Hal 34. Walk in the back of the hall towards Hal 33, continue through Hal 33 until you cross the door to Hal 32, then it is directly on your right.

Ece Nuts

Going along the back of Hall 32 from Star Nuts towards the middle of the hall, Ece Nuts are selling the latest viral craze – Dubai chocolate (vegetarian). Here they have what seems to be hand-made bars, sold in very large sizes, and for a hefty price. If you’re interested in this trend, you can find cheaper version of Dubai chocolate all around the Bazaar (for instance at H. El Mernikh, Hal: 32 - Stand: 32051, 06-87294538, just next to Ece Nuts towards the back wall). But the ones sold here seem very fancy.

Bilal Market

Nice shop with many Afghan specialties. Besides many sorts of rice, you will find hear [samanu](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samanu (sweet wheat germ paste) and kalonji (nigella) oil pressed on location.

Official name, location, and phone number (according to the Bazaar map):
Bilal Market, Hal: 32 - Stand: 32286, 0643808082
How to find: across from Café Sultan, in the center of Hall 32, just follow the noise of the sheer yakh (Afghan ice cream) makers.

Shoarma Ahlan

Moroccan, vegetarian and vegan options
Despite the name, this a full scale Moroccan restaurant, which has much more than shoarma. A great vegetarian option is msemmen with honey, and some tea to go along with it. The msemmen may also be vegan – just ask. A safer vegan option is bissara – a hearty soup of lentils or fava beans, served with nice Moroccan bread. The one made here is filling but a bit bland, feels like it’s really meant as a side dish. The harira soup may also be served vegan. Also sold here are jars of amlu – an amazing sweet argan oil spread (contains honery). The price of the amlu here is quite high, but maybe it’s a good high quality that justifies the price.

Areys Café

Somali
A shop and a small café which I have yet to truly check out. At the very least Somali coffee is worth a try, but some cakes are surely vegetarian (and possibly vegan).
