A vegan and vegetarian guide to the Bazaar in Beverwijk | Getting around | The Food Court | Hal 30 - besides the food court | The Eastern Market | The Boulevard | The Randweg
Besides the food court, which has its own entry, Hal 30 contains many different shops, and restaurants. Certain areas of this hall have specific names, like “Mihrab” and “Passage”, but it’s very easy to get lost in here – this hall is really huge!
Mihrab
Entrance from Randweg, across from Halls 31-34, or through the food court, by following “Pizza pasta & More”, “Aaya’s Fried Chicken / Falafel - Doner Kebab - Shoarma en Rahimi”, and the other fried chicken place next to it (its name keeps changing).

Tosti Bar Gali / Mahmoud Effendi / Harrison’s
Turkish, with some Iranian dishes. Mostly vegetarian, some vegan options
A Turkish café, one of the few places in the Bazaar that has a full list of ingredients of their dishes, where you will see that all baklavas are vegetarian but not vegan (they contain butter). The really surprising find here (which may not always be available) is aush reshte – a magnificent Iranian soup/stew, full of flavours and textures, containing caramelized onion, chickpeas, brown beans, noodles, leafy greens, herbs, and kashk - an Iranian sour dairy product. Ask for no kashk to make it vegan.
Official name, location, and phonenumber (according to the Bazaar map):

Tarboosh Sweets
Arab, vegetarian, vegan options
Knafeh, baklava, and other sweets. You will often see lines forming here waiting for fresh knafeh. I have asked if they have anything which doesn’t contain milk and cheese, and they’ve pointed me to the baklava. I have to say I’m not sure whether the baklava contain butter or honey (at Tosti Bar Gali, for example, all baklavas contain butter). According to this review of one of their earlier branches, they do (or did) have vegan options, so just ask. The ush al-bulbul (“bird’s nest”) baklava is truly amazing.
Tip: combine the desserts here with freshly brewed Arabic coffee from the shop on the other side of the Mihrab, which also has cute souvenirs.
